- Bolton Wood Golf Course
Bolton Wood Golf Course, is located two miles north of Linton on Hwy 59. This is an 18-hole, 3-par public course. Driving range available. For more information call 812.847.4480.
- Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area
Goose Pond is an 8,000-acre property located in southwest Greene County, two miles south of Linton, IN. Goose Pond is a wetland habitat that is in restoration at the present time and will become one of the most important migratory bird refuges in Indiana. Just east of the Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife area also visit the Bee Hunter Marsh restoration.
- Greene-Sullivan State Forest
The Greene-Sullivan State Forest is on the west edge of Linton. Boating, fishing, hunting, camping, archery and hiking are all very popular.
- Hillenbrand Fish & Wildlife Area
Maintaining 3,400 acres of upland game and wetland habitat, lakes and shallow impoundments the state is busy working for you.
- Linton City Parks
The City of Linton owns 580 acres of recreational area, which includes areas to fish, hike, mountain bike, scuba dive, swimming, camp, horseback ride, play soccer and golf. The parks include Humphrey's Park, Conservation Club, Greene County Soccer Complex, and Sunset Park.

- Phil Harris Golf Course
Phil Harris Golf Course, an important part of Greene County since the 1930’s. The 18-hole public course was renamed for one of Linton’s most famous former residents, Phil Harris. An annual Phil Harris and Friends golf tournament takes place each year the weekend following Memorial Day where celebrities and locals gather for two days of fun. This event was first started by Phil Harris to raise money for scholarships; today, Roy Clark continues his legacy. Tee Times call 812.847.4790.
- Piankeshaw Trails Educational Park
Piankeshaw Trails Educational Park is a haven for a hands-on educational experience detailing the early history of Greene County. This outdoor park is a hands-on history lesson exploring the Woodland Indian influence on southwest Indiana, pioneer history, underground railroad and more. For information call 812.825.1234.
- Privately Owned Facilities

- Redbird State Riding Area
Redbird is Indiana’s first state motorized riding facility with over 600 acres of rolling hill terrain that is challenging for the experienced rider and beginning enthusiasts. Located west of Linton, IN and north off Highway 54. This land was once mined by Redbird Coal Company and after closure of the mine minor reclamation of the land was completed. This reclamation left behind pine trees, acid lakes and extreme hilly terrain, the perfect spot for off-road motorized vehicle users to test their machinery and driving skills.
- Shakamak State Park
Just north of Linton is the ever-popular Shakamak State. Three man-made lakes offer 400 acres of water for fishing and boating, while the family aquatic center provides swimming fun. About two-thirds of the campsites are in a wooded area, offering cool shade in the summer and beautiful fall colors in autumn. Nearby is a playfield area for family fun. A popular feature of the park is the group camp.
